Heavy Snow for Britain

Posted in Chaucer's posts at 2:36 pm by Chaucer

Apparently the U.K. is due to be covered in a white blanket of snow. Britain is going to be plunged into chaos with heavy snow falling over various areas of the country, if predictions are correct. The South, and Wales will have up to 15 cms ~ 6 inches of snow falling tomorrow night and Thursday morning. London will also be having some snow, about 5cms, not enough to have much fun or build too many snowmen, but enough to cause travel disruptions. The rail and tube network are already warning passengers of possible delays, and it hasn’t even started snowing yet! It snows most years in Britain, so why does everyone act like it’s never happened before, and why is the country so unprepared every winter? It’s a crazy world that’s for sure. I guess we will be having some more snow soon, we tend to experience similar weather to the U.K. At the moment here it is a strange day changing rapidly from bright sunshine, to dull and dark skies. Yoelson and I are happy for the snow to fall, as long as we can stay snuggled up inside in the warmth.

Are flowers the winter’s choice? Is love’s bed always snow?
John Clare
