I am fed up with all of this Celebrity Big Brother crap! It’s all gone way too far, enough already.
I want everyone to love each other, wouldn’t that be wonderful? I am too tired to write anything else.
I always like to know everything about my new friends, and nothing about my old ones.

We thought that everything might have calmed down today, we were wrong. This years Celebrity Big Brother is causing quite a lot of mixed emotions. Once again the race card is being played. It happens every year, yet each time it’s considered a first. Chaucer and I were watching the news on tv earlier this morning, and we couldn’t believe it when we saw CBB was being discussed on Prime Ministers Question Time. Surely this has gone far enough? People need to get some perspective. Channel 4 need to stop airing footage that is portraying Jade Goody in particular as a racist. We watch a lot of the live feed, but we don’t wish to comment on who said what and who did what. We do want to say that there are no victims in that house, no one housemate is behaving any better or worse than any other housemate. I can’t remember exactly how many, but I think I read somewhere that there are over 38 cameras filming in the house, 24 hours a day, every day. So why has Channel 4 decided to air the tiny minority of footage that has caused so much anger? Initially I suppose they were just doing the usual, hoping to increase the number of people watching the programme. But now it does seem to have spun out of control. We think it’s time for Channel 4 to air some of the footage which shows the housemates in a positive way. There is so much more positive footage than negative, but I guess that isn’t as good for the ratings. Every year there are a few housemates who complain that they were edited unfairly, what a crock. I appreciate that Channel 4 can and do edit the footage for their own purposes, but it is absolutely impossible for any of the housemates to be shown behaving badly because of editing, if they don’t behave badly in the first place. The cameras cannot film what hasn’t happened, if the people in the Big Brother house behave like civilsed adults then that’s how they will be seen by the viewing public. I just hope that all this alledged rasicm and bitching will take a back seat, and then maybe, just maybe we will be able to watch a programme that used to be entertaining, and unfortunately is now becoming a complete farce. Or better still, take it off the air, maybe that’s what the executives behind the scenes want? Maybe they don’t want to admit defeat by calling it a day, maybe they want to be told to STOP!

Apparently the latest idea to tackle obesity is to chew gum. Scientists are working on an appetite suppressing chewing gum, which will work like the natural gut hormone by mimicking the body’s feeling full response. The hormone is called pancreatic polypeptide, which the body produces after each meal to make sure that eating doesn’t run out of control. What will they think of next? I know that there are some people who don’t know when they are full, but the majority of obese people eat too much, and move too little. It’s not complicated, exercise more, and eat a healthy balanced diet, it’s all about moderation. Et voila~goodbye to obesity.
Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess.

We are not fussy Teddy Bears, in fact we will eat most food. But fois gras, no thank you. Obviously as we live in France, it seems to be everywhere, restaurants, supermarkets, and even the smallest village shop. Apart from the fact that foie gras is the result of a particularly barbaric act, (we appreciate that many vegetarians would say all consumption of animals is barbaric), we just don’t like the taste. Where we live duck fois gras is available, and so is the rest of the duck, the breasts are very popular. Goose fois gras is also available and seems the prefered choice, but where is the rest of the goose? I guess the French must export the leftover goose, but why? It’s not important, we are just curious because we like goose and we don’t get to eat nearly enough of it.
There is no love sincerer than the love of food

Yesterday Yoelson and I were in too much shock to post, the reason for this shock was the news of David Beckham moving to America to play football. It’s not that we are remotely interested in football, or David Beckham for that matter, not after we had the trouble of David and Victoria stalking us. It’s not even because he won’t be returning to England to play, it was the obscene amount of money that his new deal will give him that made our Teddy Bear jaws drop to the floor. Apparently he has signed the biggest deal in sport history. Good for him, you can’t have too much money! We certainly didn’t see this coming, we don’t have any plans to go and live in America, and yet the Beckham’s do, so maybe we were wrong about them stalking us after all? We realise that he is a talented football player, and a huge worldwide star, but is he, or anybody worth such a large sum? Apparently he will earn $250 million over the next five years, playing for his new team Los Angeles Galaxy. We’ve never heard of them, I don’t think football (or soccer as they call it), is very big over there yet … well I’m sure it will be soon enough with David Beckham on side. Can you imagine earning £70,000 a day, or better still spending £70,000 a day, we can. I guess after a while though there wouldn’t be much left you’d want to buy, wouldn’t that be a nice problem to have. David’s earnings of £70,000 a day are apparently causing a stir with the other players at Los Angeles Galaxy, as his salary will be $10 million a year, which is similar to his wage at Real Madrid, and five times more than the rest of the LA Galaxy squad put together. I think that means the drinks will always be on David! We sure do live in a crazy world, here is a man who is undoubtedley talented, but it’s not like he is going to cure every disease there is, or solve world hunger, or bring about world peace, and he will be rewarded for his balls skils with a colossal pay packet. How does it make any sense that some people have so much while there are millions of people living on this planet who have so little? With all of this money he could solve world hunger single~handedly. I don’t think they are greedy, and they do give back to society, and we are sure that both David and Victoria Beckham give very generously to charity. We are surprised that Victoria is going to be living so far away from her family, as she seems to be very close to her parents, and siblings. But with so much money she can see them as often as she wants to, so it’s not a big problem. Rather them than me though, I don’t think we would be happy living in America, thankfully they can afford the best security to help keep them and their children safe. We shouldn’t forget that football is just a game (Oops, I bet that will upset a few people), all it involves is getting a small ball into a huge net, not exactly Quantum Physics is it? And even though David will be rewarded with lots of it, money is just pieces of dirty paper. By keeping things in perspective we feel less envious about this mega pay deal (our football skills are never going to put us in David’s position anyway), and we will sleep easier tonight because although we know that the Beckham’s are quite comfortable financially, and we know we are not quite so comfortable financially, we are truly happy, are they? Will David be able to keep his **** in his trousers/sarong, and will Victoria finally realise that she can afford to eat! Only joking, we like the Beckham’s, not that we know them, but I am sure if we did, we would, and they would like us because we are two of the most likeable, loveable, honest Teddy Bears in ……. the world our house! So whilst we try and pick our jaws up from the floor, Yoelson and I want to say a big ‘Congratulation’s’ to David, and hope he has a good, safe, new life in America.

Yesterday Laura cooked lunch for her and Richard. Richard usually does all of the cooking, but Laura said she will cook for them for the next few days. She made a delicious duck casserole. She had all of the ingredients chopped and in a large oven dish by 10am. She sliced lots of onions, which she sauted in duck fat, then she added rough chopped garlic, and last she added big chunks of carrot. She stirred this all for a few minutes before adding lots of sweetcorn, and Confit de Canard, and a litre of vegetable stock. After a quick stir to mix everything the dish went into the oven, where it bubbled away for several hours. Yoelson and I were beginning to feel our tummy’s rumble as the aroma flooded the kitchen. Laura served the duck with a potato and chestnut mash, and steamed brussel sprouts. Later when they weren’t looking Yoelson and I both had a small serving of the duck, it was delicious. Today, Laura is cooking again, a meat free dish, and Yoelson and I are going to cook a pasta dish. I hope we manage to get the kitchen clean and tidy again after we finish, don’t want Laura or Richard to notice anything.

Apparently Tori Spelling recently hosted her own yard sale. She threw open the doors to her home which was soon invaded by marauding buyers. The fans rumaged through all of her possessions, even her underwear, how classy. Tori said she was forced to do this to make ends meet, after her father the late Aaron Spelling left everything to her estranged mother in his will. I wonder could this yard sale be in any way connected to the reality programme Tori and her husband Dean McDermott have been busy filming? The reality programme will show the couple as they attempt to start a B&B. Considering Tori’s mother, Candy Spelling, is one of the richest women in Hollywood this all seems so sad. The fact that Candy was no doubt embarrassed by her daughter’s money raising stunt was probably an added bonus for Tori. I appreciate that this mother and daughter are not close, but why doesn’t Candy just give Tori a few million dollars? It is only money, and isn’t Tori about to give birth to Candy’s grandchild? If this is how the other half live, they are welcome to it! Yoelson and I would never behave like this, how sad, all that money and so little love.

Chaucer and I are ever so slightly addicted to this years Celebrity Big Brother. We said it wouldn’t happen this year, but it has. We are not loving the Indian beauty that is Shilpa Shetty. Not quite sure what it is, but we don’t like her. It could have something to do with her families links to the Indian Underworld~Mafia, we don’t like bad people! We love Jade Goody, and we hope she wins. We were loving Leo Sayer, but not so much now. No doubt tomorrow we will have changed our minds about everything, we are very fickle us Teddy Bears you know.

Usually Sunday is a day of rest here, actually every day is a day of rest. But today the house has been far from quiet, and Yoelson and I were not impressed with the noise Laura and Richard were making. As it is their house though, I thought I’d better not complain. First thing this morning (usually she doesn’t get up until lunch time), Laura was busy with the vacuum cleaner, we don’t like it, it’s too noisy. Richard wasn’t making that much noise, he was his usual quiet self, busying himself cooking lunch. It was another bright sunny warm morning, and all of the doors and windows were wide open. It was nice to have some fresh air inside, but not so nice for Yoelson and I to have to share our home with some of the local animals. First the stray dog came (from now on he will be called ‘The Dog’, then the girl dog came, and then one of the many local cats visited us. We were glad when the sun went into hiding behind a cloud, because the animals were evicted, and Laura shut the front door. She said she was cold, and she was, we saw her showing Richard her goose pimples. Not because he was particularly interested, but because he was surprised that she was complaining of being freezing. Laura is always cold though, don’t know why, maybe she is not what she seems either. Maybe she is reptilian? The house is nice and quiet now, lunch is over, and Richard has gone for a nap. Laura was just finishing
some more cleaning and we heard her talking away to herself. She often does that, but this time she sounded unhappy, and then it all beacme clear, the cat that visited earlier had left a present, who said black cats were lucky? Laura found some cat pee inside the fireplace, and on the floor in a corner of the lounge. I think that will be the last time we see that particular cat in here from now on, and that’s fine by us. Laura is now writing a letter whilst half watching Celebrity Big Brother. We are going to stay online and read the news, and then we too may have a nice afternoon sleep.
